Mission Planner for DJI Drones ("the App") is developed by Daniel Gierke. This policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information. It applies to both the iOS and Android versions.
The App displays a map so you can plan a flight and reads your device's location when you choose to centre the map on your position. Location is used on the device to draw and calculate your mission. We do not build a device-location history.
Mission coordinates you create are part of your mission data and travel with files you export or transfer. When you generate or import KMZ files using our server, those files or mission data, including coordinates, are transmitted for processing as described below. Map providers receive requests for the map area being viewed. Address searches are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service.
The App stores the following locally on your device:
This data is held in your device's local storage. It is not automatically synced to a user account. Selected mission data or files are sent to our server when you use the generation, import, or transfer features described in this policy. You can remove local data by clearing the App's data or deleting the App, subject to your device's backup and restore settings. Files exported elsewhere remain until you delete them separately.
To generate a KMZ file, the App sends mission content to our server, including waypoint coordinates and mission settings. Importing a KMZ file may upload that file to our server so it can be parsed. These operations process mission data in memory; they do not create a mission account or a permanent mission library on our server.
Our hosting infrastructure processes technical connection information needed to serve requests, such as IP addresses. Operational logs can include request paths, status codes, timing, and limited response excerpts, including transfer identifiers or file-content fragments. These logs are separate from temporary mission-file storage and are not covered by the 30-minute transfer expiry.
When you use Wi-Fi Transfer, your mission file (KMZ) is uploaded to our server to generate a download link. These files are:
The App offers optional paid subscriptions, including a free trial period. Billing is handled by the app store you bought through — Apple's App Store on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android. We do not receive or handle your payment card, bank details, or billing address.
To determine whether your subscription is active, the App uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. For this purpose, RevenueCat receives and stores information such as:
We use this information to validate subscription access and restore purchases, not for advertising or sale. RevenueCat and the app stores process information under their own privacy policies.
Each service is operated by its own company or organisation under its own privacy policy, linked above.
Getting a mission into DJI Fly on Android involves separate apps that are not part of Mission Planner and are not made by us, including DJI Fly, file managers, and ADB helper apps. We have no access to, or control over, what those apps collect. Please read their own privacy policies.
Local mission data remains on your device until you remove it, clear the App's data, or delete the App, subject to device backup and restore settings. Exported files must be deleted separately. Wi-Fi Transfer links expire after 30 minutes, with memory cleanup as described above. Operational logs and third-party subscription records have separate retention periods and are not deleted when a transfer link expires or you uninstall the App.

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
